An Update at Last!

I don’t think it occurred to me when I decided to communicate by a blog, that I would actually have to do it.  I mean I had a vague idea but not a clear picture of what my days would look like and I guess I thought that “post to blog” would fall somewhere between “running dishwasher” and “folding clothes.” Now I am clear that what my days look like is BUSY.  The babies are doing so well and we have an incredible team (literally) of people helping us; I am grateful way beyond what I can articulate.  Graham is adapting even better since he got hold of a baby’s pacifier and another’s bottle and no one took either away from him.  (Fortunately, he didn’t really like either one.)  We are taking a day at a time, loving our newly expanded family, and thankful for God’s provision in every way.

We Really Have Three!

Sitting in the hospital room on Saturday morning with all three babies swaddled and sleeping, I must admit that I am both enamored and occasionally overwhelmed.  They spend some periods of time in the nursery so when they are bringing them back in the room and I hear the sound of not one, but three bassinets being rolled down the hall, watch not one but three beds fill my room, I can still hardly believe it.  At the same time I look at each of them and can’t imagine it any other way.  They are so beautiful and so healthy…truly tiny miracles…overused, but true just the same.
We will all go home tomorrow.  Fortunately, we have lots of helpers lined up for the next week, hoping the transition will be smoothed with extra hands.  Little Graham comes today to meet his brother and sisters and get the present they brought him:  a huge teddy bear.  Considering how busy he is, I am thinking it will be a ten minute visit at the most!  He will have already been to “Touch the Trucks Day” so he will have a couple of big events today.  (Okay, so “Touch the Trucks” wins out hands down over “Meet the Siblings”.  He is only 17 months.)
We can never thank all of you for you messages, visits, phone calls, prayers, constant and dear reminders of how blessed we are by our family and friends.  We are incredibly grateful as well for the medical care we have received at Baptist Hospital.  We are blessed way beyond threes!!!

Think I will just take the bear.

Can we keep this one, Dad?

Day Three

Though we are fully aware of the fact that things are really easy right now (still in the hospital), it seems that there has been little time for posting.  Once we get home, the time will be much more limited so today is the day.  All three babies are doing very well ~ learning to eat, sleeping much of the time (Hope they keep that up!) and generally getting cooed over by their parents, family, and friends.  The medical staff continues to be amazed that they didn't need the NICU and that they are faring so well.  We are so grateful for both of those things.  Pictures below are from yesterday and today.  It was a feat keeping the right names with the right faces.  We will need to paint a toenail or two before we remove the id bracelets!

Sims is totally uninterested in the camera...good thing with two sisters!

Thrilled mom
Thank you for your prayers and constant encouragment. Can't wait for these three to realize what great friends and family members they are blessed with!

Happy birthday!

After a night with little sleep, it was very clear that today was not one day too soon for three precious babies to make the scene.  Laura Ramsay (4 lbs.7 oz) Elizabeth Wells (4 lbs. 13 oz.) and Robert Sims (5 lbs. 2 oz.) were born at 1:52, 1:53, and 1:54.  They are absolutely perfect...not one health problem...so healthy in fact that they didn't even go to the NICU.  They went straight to the regular nursery where they quickly drew a crowd of adoring fans.  Okay, so the crowd was all relatives, but they are all fans for sure.  Ramsay is doing well, trying to get a good night's sleep tonight in preparation for what may be more sleepless nights to come.  Graham is beaming and the babies are being fed every two hours and napping in between.

Thank you so much for your messages and prayers. We are so grateful.

Ramsay's aunt, Beverly Moore, is organizing meals on a website called "TakeThemAMeal.com" You can log on, identify their page by the last name, Bokinsky, and the password "babies."   The schedule is easy to access and Beverly's phone number is listed for any questions.

Have attached some pictures with more to come.  Blessings from all of us!

July 20...A long awaited birthday

When we found out on January 4 that we were having triplets, one of the things we quickly came to understand was the importance of a lofty goal for delivery day. Thirty five weeks for triplets is an ambitious goal so that is where we set our sights.  We immediately began asking people to pray for July 20...exactly 35 weeks.  As the time drew nearer, July 21 was the scheduled date for delivery and we were delighted.  Well, wouldn't you know, the doctor called this afternoon and said we weren't going to wait another day.  So what is the birthday?  July 20, of course!  God has been so good to us and we are thrilled to be welcoming our two baby girls and baby boy tomorrow.  Thank you so much for your prayers.  We will let you know tomorrow as soon as they arrive.  Blessings from the three and soon to be six of us!
